Fighting is more common, or even claiming a large kill before that wolf had been about to, ect.- alpha/ess: the head of the pack. The female is only dominate when she's in heat. beta/n: second in command, they take control if BOTH alpha's die without heirs or if the heirs are too young to take the position. alpha/beta heirs: these are typically the only pups allowed, they are to be fed and cared for before all other pups, they are considered the highest asset of the pack. healers: you can guess gamma: the elders, there are rarely any elders in a pack, these usually hang around and wait till the pack catches something and they only guard the den and/or watch the pups in the group. delta: There are only four positions open for this spot, these are usually the strongest wolves in the pack, rarely ever a female. They patrol the territory borders in a different order every day. They have to be able to fight several wolves at once to protect the border. (they also start out a raid, they go first and the rest follow) Mu: The male average wolves. They hunt, fight, and babysit, and pretty much anything the alpha's ask of them. Nu: The female version of the Mu. Iota: The teenagers. Subordinates: The newbies, they come here if the alphas haven't placed them in a spot yet. If your subordinate hasn't been placed after 20 days of being in this group please contact your alpha and he will place you. Pups: Other pups not by the Betas or Alphas. These pups are usually ignored until they reach the Iota stage, if they're still alive. They are lower than the subordinates but higher than Omegas. If anyone is caught feeding these pups before the heirs are full they will be punished, even the mother of other pups will be punished, though it is possible to sneak away to feed her pups. Omegas: These are the freaks or the ones that no one can tolerate at all, they are weak, conniving and probably closest to being run out of the group. Males: They always come before females, except for the Alphess and occasionally the Betan-the betan will take alphess possition temporarily when the alphess is dealing with birthing pups and nursing(unless if the betan has pups around the same time of the Alphess, then it's the Betan's job to care for all pups, putting the alpha heirs before her own)-.
